“A light without shadow generates an emotion without reserve”
I’d been watching the mid-morning light for probably a few hours, across the last week, with just one eye open, face often parallel or better yet underneath the pillow.
When I came back to this study, with a new camera and a used but nearly forgotten lens, it was the first time I made an image without reserve, as clearly as I saw it myself.
As clearly as I saw myself.
— That’s a Roland Barthes quote from Mythologies.
