Unfettered Vigilance


If I just keep saying no to every idea because of the time it will take, my temper will carry an empty vessel through a descending tone and unfettered vigilance of self-critique that might break my interest in writing altogether. I like to pretend I’ll eventually lacquer myself back together in a kintsugi of gold, but the only thing that breaks is the fantasy of avoiding patience. Some things — many things — take time.
