The First Email


What I didn’t anticipate, before sending the first email, was that a) strangers would order a calendar (right away) and that b) people would actually order five of them, at full price.

While my phone buzzed with notifications for a few hours, before pulling back into its placid yet still addictive black reflection, I was buoyed by a tiny bit of hope, against a new swelling tide of anxiety about what happens when a thing goes well, and the pressure of having customers.
