Out-Of-Body Experience


When a wedding itinerary moves into the darkness of a dancefloor, my attention can finally loosen and relax enough that I’ll raise the camera far above my head, no longer looking or really knowing exactly what I’m capturing, like some out-of-body experience, glancing back downward with a periscope time-machine, viewfinder-less.

And with that loosened attention and focus, eyes surveying the scene only tangentially, in parallel, witnessing becomes more of an experiment than a craft.
